Lori,
Lovey went to our vet and received her booster shot as well as a
physical. She was an immediate "hit" with all of the staff
who were so kind to our Sunshine for many years. Dr. Pullen marveled
at how big she was as well as her behavior. She now weighs 4 pounds
and 7 ounces and is a real sweetheart.
She has her own scratching post for home and our friends from Maryland
brought her a huge "kitten gift bag". She has a kitten
"scratch pad ", a real baby blanket and toys of all shapes
and sizes. She zips through the house carrying her new toys and
depositing them at my feet for me to toss.
We have found a place to purchase her "Wellness" dry and
canned food as well as the other food you suggested.
You have no idea how much you have "added" to our lives
by allowing us to have Lovey . She has been great company for Angel.
Both of the girls are getting along well. Angel doesn't play as
much as Lovey, but I "pick up the slack". Lovey enjoys
"talking" with everyone too. She "meows" when
spoken to. What a wonderful kitty!
My cousin, (who babysat Angel while we came to California for Lovey),
spent most of a day at the house holding and petting her. Everyone
loves Lovey!
If ever we "adopt" again or have the opportunity to tell
a friend of your wonderful "fur people" we will surely
do so!

Below is an update in January 2008
Hi Lori,
I hope your holidays were as great as ours. We had lots to be thankful
for.........Lovey being one of those . I thought I'd write and tell
;you about some "firsts" that we have had with her. We
still miss our 'Sunshine", but Lovey has made our holidays
very special.
Her first Christmas was wonderful. She sat with me and watched while
I decorated each and every one of our dozen trees. The lights fascinated
her as did the Christmas bulbs. She never touched any of these.
She patted at the beads, but never moved them from their place.
When we had company she pranced around, getting her "pets"
and then watched graciously. She never made a move to grab any of
the goodies that were sitting on tables around her.
Today was perhaps the biggest surprise for her. She saw her first
snowflakes and tried to capture them as they hit the window. She
looked at us pitifully as if to ask why she couldn't catch anything.
Bobby put on his jacket and took her outside to "play catch"
with the flakes. He held her as she swatted at the flakes. We haven't
laughed that hard in months. Finally a flake landed on her eye and
she decided she had enough.
Once inside she ran to her cat stand and again swatted at the flakes.
As I speak she is still watching the ground turn white with a look
of complete wonderment.
Each night when we go to sleep, Lovey tucks herself under my arm
and sleeps next to me. Occasionally I will awake to find her wrapped
around my neck.
She is such a joy to us and Angel and her spend time lounging together
now. Occasionally they have a difference of opinion when Lovey wants
to play and Angel wants to sleep but I take a toy and play and all
is forgotten.
When I have to go to work, only for 4 hours several days a week,
she is waiting for me at the door when I come home.
Our Christmas guests couldn't keep their eyes off of her. One guest
who "doesn't like cats" made it a point to pet her and
remarked about her soft fur and beautiful eyes.
We are blessed to have found you and your sweet kitties. If ever
we want another "baby" we will make another trip to California
from New Jersey. I wouldn't think of having another kitty. I'm spoiled
now and want "only the best" and that comes from OZ.
Thank you for your emails and we will continue to keep in touch.
I have not yet purchased my digital camera, but when I do you will
get the first pictures. You will never believe how big she is and
more beautiful than I would have ever thought. Thanks so much.
Take care...........Theresa, Bobby, Lovey and Angel
PS. Lovey sends her kitty kisses to her furry mom and dad.
