Dear Lori: Recently you asked if I would write a reference for your webpage. Would I! When I first read your description of Scottish Folds with "purr-sonality" I thought, yeah, sure. After all, no one thinks they have an ugly baby. But then when I talked to you and heard how the kittens were raised -- handled by a loving family from birth -- I thought, well, maybe. Now, after becoming the proud owner of Blue Boy, I say, yes, definitely! My Blue Boy is so gentle and so people-oriented, that I think of him as more like a puppy than a kitten! He follows me everywhere, must be in the same room I am at all times, sleeps at my feet when I work and at my side when I go to bed. During the day, he chirps now and then to let me know, Hey, I'm here! As if I didn't know! He so utterly trusts people that he'll go up to strangers and sniff them and lick them, something I've NEVER seen a cat do. Even the people at the vet are nuts over him. When I went to pick him up the other day from his third series of shots, the receptionist and the groomer both said in unison, "We LOVE Blue Boy!" He's my angel, my baby, my roomie, my world. He's great as a kitten but I also can't wait to see what kind of cat he grows into. All of the above has been made possible because of the kindness and gentleness Lori and her children showed Blue Boy as a newborn. The way I see it, he was raised perfectly; it's now my job not to screw it up! And to think that at first I was wracked with indecision. The kitten would change my life, it's a big responsibility, what if he doesn't like me, yadda yadda yadda. Lori walked me through every moment of "I don't know"; now, I can't imagine anyone else being his owner! You read that Scottish Folds are more intelligent and more loving than other breeds. I'm sure that's true. But Lori's kittens are that, and much much more! Best, Nikki Finke, Los Angeles, CA |
